Basic Table Manners- Not quite as common as you would think!

  •   Avoid speaking with food in your mouth. It’s just gross.
  • Chew with your mouth closed: Chewing is a step in the processing of food. Trust me; we just want to see the food. We do not want to be witness to ANY of the other processes
  •   Keep your opinions about the food to yourself: We all know that person who will criticize the food enough to make you lose your appetite and surprisingly, not theirs as they proceed to feast hungrily and clean their plate. Be considerate
  • Bringing up gross topics while people are eating
  • Keep away from topics that sound yucky from the time the idea is conceived in your obviously idle mind. Again, be considerate
  • Wash your hands before and AFTER you eat: Whether you’re sharing a pizza or using cutlery to dine, please wash your hands before you eat. After eating, licking your fingers does not substitute washing them. Find a sink if the waiter has disappeared as they are wont to do once you’ve purchased the food ;-)
  •  Use a toothpick but please do not show us your gold digging process! Cover your mouth with one hand as you do the nasty. Use a serviette to clean your lips and swish some water. You’ll be more confident to smile when you're done!!
